Disneyland March 2015

My family and I absolutely love Disneyland. I went on vacation in March 2015, with my mother, sister, grandma, aunt, and two cousins. We had so much fun on this vacation, and by the end of the vacation, my family definitely felt like we had bonded. The first thing that we normally do before going to Disneyland is watch tons of Disney movies and listen to a Disney soundtrack on the car ride over. My mother is the one who introduced me to this Disney addiction. She has always loved Disney, and she knows how to Disney hard-core. We went to Disneyland during the spring time, so my packing list is based on spring weather.

What to pack:

  • Camera
  • Shorts
  • T-Shirts
  • Dresses
  • Backpack (trust me, you're going to need this!)
  • Sunscreen
  • Swim suit (if you have a pool/hot tub at your hotel)
  • Autograph book and pen (or buy at the park)
  • Disneyland tickets!
  • Comfy shoes

When we first arrived to Disneyland, I purchased a pair of Maleficent Mickey ears, and they made all of the photos definitely look like I was in Disneyland. After our vacation, the family decided that those photos were the best and that we should always buy ears for pictures from now on.

The very first thing that my family does to get in the Disney mood is go ride on Pirates of the Caribbean. The second ride that we go on is The Haunted Mansion. After that, we normally split up and go our separate ways. My mother and I enjoyed going on a character hunt. My grandma, cousins, and sister like to go on lots of the crazy roller coasters. My aunt goes with my cousins and goes shopping.

Something that I highly recommend is going to the Mint Julep Bar! We always buy beignets and mint juleps. Depending on the time of year, you can get beignets with pumpkin spice, chocolate peppermint, or regular flavors. A piece of advice: don't war any black clothing while eating beignets!
Disneyland during the holidays is great! My mother got to go during Halloween, and my favorite movie is Nightmare Before Christmas, she got a cute photo of Zero!

One of my favorite things to do with my youngest cousin is to take him and try on crazy hats, and Disneyland is the best place to do this. It is fun to go into the Mad Hatter store and try on different Disney hats and take pictures. I think that these photos make for the best memories and is just a fun experience overall.

During this Disneyland trip, it was my first time going to Cars Land and riding the Monsters Inc. ride. Cars Land was totally magical, specifically, the Radiator Springs Racers ride. In this ride, you get to cruise around in a car and look at all the sights from Cars, and at the end, you get to race other people! Since Monsters Inc. is my second favorite movie (the first is Alice in Wonderland), I absolutely loved the Monsters Inc. ride. This ride was great for small children and it followed the movie very well.

My mother and I went on a character hunt to take a bunch of selfies with the different Disney characters around the park. This made for the best photos, and definitely helped with the Disney-vibe. During this vacation, I wore Maleficent ears, which was so much fun. I was taking photos with Goofy, and he had me pose for a hilarious photo which just made my day.

My mother, cousin, and I were the hardcore Disneyland goers in our family group. At the end of the day, the rest of the family went back to the hotel room. The three of us went on Pirates of the Caribbean, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We were going to go on the Haunted Mansion one last time, but my 9 year old cousin was scared from the fact that it was late and Pirates has a real skeleton. He said "aunt do we have to go on the Haunted Mansion? I'm too scared." So we ended our trip there!
